Before developing a career in television, Catherine enjoyed a variety of jobs including working in the City as a cook and as an estate agent. In 1995 she joined Country Living magazine as the Editor’s Assistant, later moving into organising exhibitions and events when she became Head of Shows, running the magazine's portfolio of Country Living Fairs.
On top of this, Catherine set up and runs The Farmer Wants a Wife campaign, matching lonely farmers with their ideal partner. So far, her role as Cupid has been highly effective. She can count eight marriages and two babies among her success stories.
The campaign was nominated for a BAFTA and this put Catherine in the spotlight. She was asked to present BBC2's Escape to the Country and from there her career in TV took off.
She stepped into Lloyd Grossman's shoes as co-presenter of Through The Keyhole, alongside Sir David Frost and has filmed a second series of The Farmer Wants a Wife.
Catherine went onto present two series of No Place Like Home for ITV1, and Fantasy Homes By The Sea and Fantasy Homes In The City – matching would-be buyers towards the property of their dreams.
