The ex-editor of the Daily Mirror recently showed his flair in front of the cameras as one of the judges on ITV1’s Britain’s Got Talent alongside Amanda Holden and Simon Cowell.
Having started his newspaper career on local papers in south London, Piers became a showbiz reporter on The Sun’s Bizarre pages before going on to edit The News of The World and then The Daily Mirror.
Piers has since turned his attentions to a career in TV. After stints fronting a documentary and a current affairs show, he then made a big splash in the world of light entertainment.
He first appeared on NBC’s America’s Got Talent over in the States and then on ITV1’s British version - where he was last seen holding back the tears during contestant Paul Potts’s winning operatic performance. Piers is set to return with the show in 2008.
