The lowdown: James Nesbitt and Helen Baxendale head up the cast in this award-winning comedy about the ups-and-downs of three 30-something couples living in Manchester: Adam (Nesbitt) and Rachel (Baxendale), Pete (Thomson) and Jenny (Ripley), and Karen (Norris) and David (Bathurst). It charts the group of friends’ bittersweet struggles with commitment, cancer, love, unemployment, birth and divorce.

Memorable moments: That rose scene in the pilot episode, when a love-stuck Adam tries to win back Rachel by appearing naked in the street - except for said rose between his clenched buttocks.

Trivia: The show was going to be called Love, Life and Everything Else, but later changed to Cold Feet - apparently inspired by Adam’s comment in the first show about getting “cold feet” over plans to move in with Rachel.
SPOILER ALERT: Adam and Rachel’s paths first cross in a supermarket car park when their motors are involved in a minor crash. Ironically, the pair are robbed of happiness in the final series thanks to another crash, this time involving a lorry.
