Broadcast four years after her death, the authoritative portrait features exclusive interviews and insights from former lover James Hewitt and close friends. Punctuated with revealing footage, the chapters cover her childhood, romance with Prince Charles, the collapse of their marriage and that final fateful summer.

Memorable moments: Shirley Hewitt – mother of Diana’s former beau James – reveals some everyday tit-bits from behind the royal curtain in one of many exclusive interviews featured in the series. She fondly remembers how Diana stole vodka from the Highgrove cellar whenever she visited the Princess of Wales.

Trivia: The four-part series is narrated by the David Troughton. The actor is part of a successful thespian dynasty which includes his father Patrick – a former Doctor Who – and son Sam, who featured in the 2006 TV reprisal of Robin Hood.
