The lowdown: It’s Christmas Eve 2000 and Eddie Scrooge is looking forward to one of his most profitable days of the year. He is an unscrupulous loan shark living on a poor estate, and his business partner Jacob Marley has been killed while out on business.  But as Christmas approaches and Eddie is taught the true meaning of this time of year by the three ghosts of Christmas, past, present and future. The phantoms want him to change his ways, but it’s going to be a long process...

Memorable moment: Having relieved most of the estate’s tenants of their worldly goods, Eddie finally changes his ways and helps Marley’s impoverished family and others. In one scene he visits a petrified customer holding a huge present. “Merry Christmas, Eric,” says a smiling Eddie. Eric faints with shock on his own doorstep.

Trivia: Ross Kemp wrote the synopsis to this drama and made it after signing an exclusive deal with ITV.
