Christmas at the Riviera

It’s Christmas Eve at The Riviera hotel and the guests are in for a stay they’ll never forget.
 
Assistant manager Ashley Dodds (Reece Shearsmith) is in charge for the night, and he’s desperate to make a good impression. But as the guests descend on the Eastbourne boarding house he soon realises he’s got his hands full, especially after the evening gets off to a decidedly damp start.
 
First up are randy reverend Miles Rogers (Alexander Armstrong) and his alcoholic wife Diane (Anna Chancellor). The rev’s about to become embroiled in a sex scandal, as the tabloids have unearthed his affair with a female vicar.
 
Then there’s brassy divorcee Avril Weston (Pam Ferris). She wants a man for Christmas and, armed with peroxide blonde hair, six-inch heels and leather trousers, she’s not taking no for an answer.
 
Overbearing Maurice Hunt (Warren Clarke) is a retired copper who treats his timid wife Rita (Barbara Flynn) like a bungling recruit. But Rita’s been hiding a family secret for years and tonight, when the truth comes out, her pompous hubby’s going to get what he deserves.
 
Ashley’s night goes from bad to worse, but just as he hits rock bottom he gets a chance to redeem himself. But will he rise to the occasion?
