The lowdown: Insurance seller Michael Wiseman (Eric Close) is killed in a subway accident. But he gets another chance when the US government transplants his active brain into a new, genetically engineered body.
Even though the government forbids contact, Michael cannot let go of the grieving wife and daughter he left behind before his death. With feisty villain ‘The Eggman’ intent on releasing a deadly nerve gas into the city, Michael must save the population while desperately trying to rekindle his past life.
Memorable moment: Michael's daughter Heather (Heather Matarazzo) gets struck by lightning, in the episode A Girl's Life, while out looking at a bright light in the sky. She is rushed to hospital where she lies in a coma. Dr Morris (Dennis Haysbert) takes Michael to see her from outside the window of her hospital room and she wakes up thinking she’s an angel.
Trivia: Haysbert got his big break playing Dr Morris after years spent acting bit parts. He used the series as a springboard to land a major role in the Oscar nominated film Far From Heaven and, of course, the juicy role of President David Palmer in 24.
