Following up on a routine complaint, Lewis and Hathaway drive to the mansion of rock legend Richie Maguire (David Hayman).

This takes Lewis on a nostalgic journey, as he comes face to face with the icons of his youth.

The aging musician is in a state of shock. “Not every day Esmé Ford comes back from the dead,” Richie explains to his visitors.

There, before Lewis, is Esmé, (Joanna Lumley) the lead singer whose poster adorned his bedroom wall and who was thought to have drowned in Grenada more than 30 years ago.

Elsewhere, the body of Lucas Hamilton, a teenage boy apparently killed by a vehicle repeatedly driving over his body, is found  abandoned on a railway track.

Lewis is shocked to discover evidence on the boy’s body that takes him back to Richie Maguire’s mansion.  But what links him to a posse of old rockers?

A check on the band’s gleaming gallery of vehicles finds nothing linking them to the crime, but, during their search,   the police find a stash of money hidden beneath the passenger seat of the car belonging to the band’s music supervisor, Bone.

The plot thickens when Bone is found dead from an overdose which Lewis is certain was not self inflicted.

With the death toll rising and their boss pressing for a swift result, can Lewis and Hathaway find a harmonious resolution to the murderous mayhem among the musicians?
