Kevin Whately's favourite episode

The star of Inspector Morse and Lewis reveals his personal favourite.

“My favourite episode is Deceived By Flight because it involved Lewis a lot. It was written by Anthony Minghella about a cricket team that is smuggling cocaine into Britain from Hong Kong," Kevin said.

"Lewis had to go under cover as a college porter and be part of the team. The whole thing came up because Colin Dexter [the show's author] and I had a conversation about the England cricket team.

"I would have loved to have played cricket for England, even though I’ve never been particularly good at it.

"I don’t have a problem watching old episodes. My mum was in hospital recently and I watched an episode with her and when Lewis comes on it looked like my son coming into the room. It doesn’t look like me.”
