British entertainment legend Bruce Forsyth celebrates his 80th Birthday on Friday 22 February 2008.Yes, Brucie turns 80 this week, and as over 60 of Brucie's golden years have been steeped in illustrious showbiz glory, we thought it only right to celebrate the beloved showman and his comic career in style.
For over 60 years, the beaming Brucie has been an iconic fixture in the land of TV entertainment, and in particular, the nation’s best loved game shows.
"When I'm performing I feel about 35," he told the TV Times ahead of his big day. "It's going to take me quite a while to get used to being 80. I don't feel it and I don't think I act like it."
It was during shows such as Bruce’s Price is Right and Play Your Cards Right that the telly icon coined many of his trademark catchphrases, such as the “Brucie Bonus” and the famous audience exchange, “Nice to see you, to see you… Nice!”
"Every show has been for a family audience, so children have grown up with me on TV since 1958," he says. "I've been lucky that everybody has known me over so many, many years."
