James Degale

James Frederick DeGale MBE is an Olympic gold medal winning boxer, born in Hammersmith, London.

Moments after James was born, his mum declared he "looked like a boxer". And by the age of 10, it was clear he was a natural fighter after his dad and grandfather signed him up at the local gym.

James' determination and fighting skills often had his opponents declining to fight - but he had to make sacriafices, like not going "out with the lads" too often.

In 2008, James represented Great Britain at the Olympics in the Middleweight boxing event, winning the gold medal.

Torn between returning to the Olympics in 2012 or turning professional, James finally agreed a deal with promoter Frank Warren to become a pro boxer. His main goal is to become World Champion.
