Jack and his crew are off to the Sarawak jungle. Here they will live beneath the canopy for six days as they trek towards the home of the Penan, one of the last truly nomadic jungle tribes untouched by the 21st Century. This task will be make or break time for recruits' mental and psychical capabilities and with no hospital nearby, preparation for the journey is the ultimate key to survival.

The first test is for the recruits to pack their essentials into a single rucksack and complete a gruelling 12-hour trek through unforgiving jungle terrain. Can they reach camp before dark after being faced with a torrential downpour, 95% humidity, strenuous exercise and leeches? They can, but not without blood, sweat and a lot of tears...

The next day gets off to a bad start with a 6.30 wake-up call and proceeds to get worse as self confessed fussy miss Becky refuses to eat her hearty porridge or drink any water and eventually pays the price by collapsing of dehydration and exhaustion.

With the continuation of the adventure in jeopardy, Jack’s frustrations boil over, leaving Becky behind at camp he takes the remaining recruits off on a make or break hunting trip.

The remaining recruits pull together and although they are not entirely succesful at hunting with traditional blowpipes, they get stuck in building an overnight shelter and even help to cut up a wild boar caught by the Penan.

Reunited with Becky who claims she has now seen the error of her ways, Jack and the recruits face their final challenge - a hardcore yomp out of the jungle in double quick time.

With the thought of home comforts waiting to greet them, Becky and Georgie set a fast pace at the front. They eventually make it out of the jungle in one piece and despite the ups and downs, Jack congratulates everyone on a challenge well completed, but warns them that they haven’t earned his full respect just yet.
