Established at the height of the Caudwell Group’s success in the 1990s and registered as a charity in 2000, Caudwell Children are a national charity committed to improving the lives of sick and disabled children across the UK.

By providing families with individual donations of specialist equipment, life changing treatments and therapies, the Charity has become widely recognised as a vital source of support and one of the country’s fastest growing children’s charities.

Did you know? There are currently 770,000 disabled children in the UK.
• Since 2000 Caudwell Children has donated over £7 million worth of equipment, treatment or therapy to sick and disabled children living in the UK.

Did you know? 55% of families caring for a disabled child live on or in the margins of poverty.
• Caudwell Children currently supports over 1000 families nationwide with on-going treatment or therapy.

Did you know? Over 130,000 children in the UK have Autism.
• To date, Caudwell Children have made over 1500 donations, spending over £2.6 million on treatments and therapies for autistic children.

Did you know? There are over 100,000 children in the UK that currently use a wheelchair.
• To date, Caudwell Children has donated over £1.5 million to help children with wheelchair needs.

In addition to the donations of equipment, treatments and therapies; the Charity also organises the annual ‘Destination Dreams’ trip for children fighting life limited illness and their families.

The carefully planned trip is specifically designed for children with a high medical dependency, which often makes any travel impossible. A team of charity staff, volunteers, paramedics and doctors assist the families on the trip to ensure the family has respite from the stresses of constant care, creating happy memories of being together and having a positive impact on the child’s wellbeing.

In December 2008 the Charity is taking 40 children and their families for a magical week at the specialist resort, ‘Give Kids The World’ http://www.gktw.org in Florida where they will enjoy all of the region’s famous theme parks and attractions, confident that they have the necessary medical support.

How can you help?
The Charity welcomes offers of support from both individuals and businesses, and because of the unique way the Charity is run, every penny that is donated goes directly to the children we help.

During the course of the year the Charity holds several events and challenges and welcomes fundraisers or volunteers to help make them a success.

• The Legends Ball – the Charity’s flagship fundraising event, a glamorous evening of food and entertainment for a great cause. Held in London each May, this year’s event featured US soul sensation, Whitney Houston and generated over £1.5m. Tables for the 2009 event are available now.

• Challenges – available throughout the year, why not set yourself a personal goal or face your fears by signing up for a sponsored skydive, fire walk or even a shark dive. Our volunteers’ team can help you every step of the way and even give you ideas and tips to ensure you raise the sponsorship required.

• Plan your own event – if you have a fundraising idea or a challenge you want to tackle then we can help you make it a success. With a dedicated events and marketing team we can give you the necessary advice and support to ensure your event goes according to plan.
