DANCING ON ICE: GALLERIES

Can you think of a more glittery, ice-tastic fun fest to festoon our screens during the festive season? No? And neither can we!

This Dancing On Ice special may have been sparkly skate magic at its very best, but the heat was on as Team Torvill and Team Dean went head-to-head in a battle to become Christmas champions.

They've ruled the ice as a fearless duo since the 1970s, and we split them up, for one night only...
... but not before they had treated us to some moving winter warmers - complete with choir, kiddies and professional skaters, of course.

Drum roll please - there they are, our cool competitors. Bedecked with baubles, fir and more seasonal sparkles than you could shake a candy cane at, Suzanne Shaw, Clare Buckfield and Zaraah Abrahams sped out onto the ice for Team Torvill.

And Team Dean's Chris Fountain, Duncan James and Kyran Bracken were sporting the spandex for the boys.

No rink reunion would be the same without our infamous Ice Panel.

Karen Barber, Nicky Slater, Jason Gardiner, Ruthie Henshall and Robin Cousins were out in fine force for this shimmering showdown.

After watching her glide around the rink with Gareth 'Skates' Gates last series, former Blue hunk Duncan James looked as pleased as punch to be rocking the rink with Maria once again.

Haunted by his high-rise hairdos from series three, Duncan opted for a demure pink quiff to top off his outfit.

Wooah! Is that Clare Buckfield we see beaming at us in mid-air? That's right ice fans, and she's stepping into Suzanne's skates to brave the infamous Headbanger lift with partner Pavel.

Gulp. We still can't erase the memories of Bonnie's bonce bashing the ice...

What the? You can tell 2007 champ Kyran Bracken has been putting in the hours!

The former rugby ace whipped out a Dancing On Ice first with this topsy turvy lift.

She was the new girl on the ice block for a few weeks, but these days, series three latecomer Zaraah Abrahams never fails to dazzle with her graceful routines. 

Showing off his trademark facial glitter and the formidable Frankie on his arm (shoulder, and head!), Chris Fountain burst back onto the rink with his eyes on the prize...

... and another axel up his spandex sleeve.

And there she is - our 2008 ice champ Suzanne Shaw.

Setting the rink alight in her cheeky Mrs Claus outfit, our reigning ice queen looked like all her Christmases had come at once as she sailed through her routine with partner n' pal, Matt.

What better way to end a festive ice frolic than with a gritty group number featuring a spangly superstar?
