Pictured here with their Olympic gold medals 25 years after their triumphant Bolero win, Torvill and Dean are marking the anniversary of their iconic routine with a special documentary on ITV1.

Dancing On Ice: The Story of Bolero with Torvill and Dean reveals just how the skaters first met and worked towards creating their famous routine.

 

... and here they are, collecting those very medals at the Sarajevo Winter Olympics back in 1984!

“I think at that moment we knew we’d got the gold medal but I don’t think it really sank in for all the hours and years,” Jayne sighs.

Chris and Jayne’s Bolero was a moment of perfection never seen before.

Their performance was rewarded with ice dancing’s first ever 12 perfect 60s, safely ensuring that gold for Great Britain, and a legend that would live on for many years to come.

Since their success, the nation has been treated to the return of the rink royalty thanks to the fabulous Dancing On Ice.

“Bolero has become like a very special thing,” Jayne says. “I think it’s become more special as the years have gone by - people are still talking about it.”

The skating legends have performed special variations of the routine during the show finales each year, and are pictured here alongside Julian Lloyd Webber in 2008.

The ice-tastic duo never cease to surprise their adoring viewers on the show,  choreographing phenomenal show openers each week, as well as our nervous celebrities' routines.

And who could forget the pink chandelier that marked the start of the 2008 series?!

The legendary pair's trip down memory lane will no doubt be an emotional one, and we can't wait to see their magical reworking of their famous routine during this year's show finale.
