DANCING ON ICE: WEEK ONE

It's back folks! And what better way to celebrate the new series than with a gloriously spangly group opening number?

Whilst Christopher Dean only made a fleeting appearance following his operation, Jayne was well looked after, thanks to our professional skaters.

It's never great being first to step out onto the ice, but Jeremy stepped up to the plate and dazzled regardless with stunning partner Darya.

And he got to wear the pink spandex and eyeliner he'd longed for! Perfect.

Also rocking the rink was investigative reporter Donal.

Despite later going on to face the first skate-off of the series, the plucky star pulled a perky performance out of the bag, and received unanimous votes from the judges.

No here's a man who caused a stir! After watching Todd's tentative performance, judge Jason sharpened his claws, despite a standing ovation in the studio.

“Unfortunately you have to learn to move and gesticulate and not appear as though you have had an accident in your pants," he boomed from behind the panel.

“Why don’t you come and change them mate?" Todd replied. Crikey...

As this snap and the accompanying Springsteen track suggest, former rugby "hunk" Ellery was Born to Run.

But according to an admiring Ruthie, he looks like he was made for the ice as well.

Despite us all being green with envy at this cute coupling, it wasn't to be for Graeme and Kristina on the night, as they slid straight into the skate-off and were sent packing by Donal and Florentine.

Let's give it up for this man people - Mr Michael Underwood overcame his injury and burst back on that rink to thunderous applause.

Mum-to-be and hostess with the mostest Holly sparkled in yet another glorious frock.
