McCruick makes a Booby

John and The Booby bring their own hamper to Hell’s Kitchen!

Renowned racing pundit John McCruick was always going to be a tricky customer, so when he and wife Booby arrived at the restaurant with their own lobster picnic, the staff were bracing themselves!

And sure enough, seeing the Consomme of Wild Mushrooms and Truffle En Croute on the menu, John asked Maitre D’ Nick to request it without the pastry.

“Can’t do it,” Marco snapped, as Nick informed him at the pass. “Tell him to have his hamper.” So Nick relayed the message to John, telling him to remove the pastry himself.

“It’s only half full!” John spluttered. “Look at this and how greasy it is. It’s solid grease!”

Explaining that the fois gras and truffle oil create that consistency, Nick tottered back to the pass and then returned with Marco’s outraged response. “I’m sorry John, he’s not serving any more food this evening,” Nick sighed, collecting the cutlery. “Enjoy your lobster.”

Another one bites the dust!
