Marco: 'Adele’s my winner'

Pastry pro Brian and last lady Adele arrive for their appraisals.

Brian nervously stepped into Marco’s office-cum-greenhouse, where instead of 20 lobster cocktails (as on the previous night, when the Head Chef had used it as a larder for the starters), he found a very complimentary appraisal.

“Your strengths are that you enjoy the service which I think is really important,” Marco began. “If you enjoy the service you get turned on by it, you don’t fear it …”You’ve found yourself in pastry, so you have no fears,” he added, having praised Brian’s organizational skills.

Last but not least, the competition’s only lady remaining faced Marco’s verdict.

“If I had to choose a winner in two days time it would be you,” Marco revealed to an overwhelmed looking Adele. “I think you’ve worked so hard compared to everybody else.”

“That means a lot thank you,” a moved Adele replied. And as she gathered up her notepad and headed to the door, Marco spotted some love hearts drawn on one side of the paper.

“That was just me doodling on my list of things to do,” a blushing Adele insisted.

“Really?” said Marco. “That’s an interesting doodle…”

Ooh. Er. Missus!
