Today the 60 Minute Makeover team are in Bury St Edmunds, where we are helping Karen surprise Cathy her mum, who has been a complete rock to the family since her husband Paul fell ill.
Cathy has nursed Paul through several severe operations and held the family and home together whilst Paul has been unable to do so.
Cathy is currently helping Karen renovate her house whilst doing two jobs and looking after the rest of the family. She has been so busy helping other people, that she has had no time to work on her own house.
So Karen wants to give something back and surprise her mum with a 60 Minute Makeover surprise.
Derek Taylor who is directing the team, wants to rediscover Cathy’s Mediterranean roots and create a ray of sunshine for her and the family.

Cathy couldn't believe this was the same house, the transformation was amazing, even the wallpaper passed the test. Cathy just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone that was involved
