See what happened when the 60 Minute Makeover team surprised Rosemary Barratt and her four children Joe, Tom, James and Scarlett.
Husband and father John Barratt contacted us asking us to help give his family the surprise of a lifetime.
Rosemary writes about amazingly stylish homes in her job as an interior design journalist for the local newspaper. She is always talking about the things she’s seen in the homes she visits and that she wishes that she could translate some of it into her own home.
During the last year the family have been building an extension to accommodate their every growing family – space has always been a bit of a problem. They are turning a three-bedroom semi into a five bedroom semi. While the building work has been underway, the kids and Rosemary have had to put up with a lot – they’ve been sharing rooms and living in a building site.
John wanted to give Rosemary the stylish living room she’s always talked about and give the whole family a dining room – as it was being used as a study. He wanted to give his three boys their own TV/Music and Games room and his daughter Scarlet a room fit for a princess.
