This unique park just outside Cheticamp is run by Chester Delaney. It was started in 1984 when Chester’s father, Joe Delaney, wanted to plant a garden. His neighbours told him he was crazy as his plants would get eaten by deer and rabbits. To combat this he erected some Scarecrows. It became an overnight sensation and the next day tourists began to stop and take photos. People from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and even from around the world came to Joe's support and donated clothing, materials and money to build his scarecrow collection. His children moved a trailer to the side of the garden and opened a restaurant.
