PETERBOROUGH: JOHN ELSON

When asked if he reckons he's the perfect host, John replies: "I am more the perfect guest... I'll always clear my plate, empty my glass and ask for seconds and thirds!"

John chose his former teacher to be his co-host: "Steve was actually contacted first, as he hosts the comedy club website, but felt, for some reason, that i would make a better contestant. The dynamic of pupil and teacher meeting later in life and our families becoming best mates seems unique to everyone except us."

On the overnight stay, John adds: "We didn't look after Kate hardly at all for a number of reasons. We didn't want her to feel uncomfortable staying in a house alone with two men, and so kept our distance. And both of us had been lectured by our partners about how to act around other women."
