For me the whole point of a ‘proper’ bacon sandwich is that it should taste just like the ones in the greasy spoon cafes that were so prevalent in the 80s and have been somewhat sadly replaced by trendy branded coffee emporiums where the bacon sandwiches are pre-packaged and generally come with a serving of avocado and/or chicken, a mere parody of the Great British institution.26 June 2008

Ingredients

Good quality bacon
Sliced bread
Butter
Brown sauce

Preparation

1. Place the bacon on a plate and microwave for 2-3 minutes. The bacon should come out nice and crispy.

2. To serve, butter 2 slices of bread, add the bacon and a dollop of brown sauce to taste.
