Andi Peters

He used to be known to children across the country as Edd The Duck’s right hand man. Since then Andi Peters has expanded his presenting CV to incorporate shows such as Dancing on Ice and Sunday Feast.

Now, the former Live and Kicking host has swapped his ice skates for a spatula to partake in the new series of Celebrity Masterchef.

Andi is one of the 24 celebrities taking part in the new series and, if rumours are to be believed, the competition has never been fiercer. This will be the third series of the popular show presented by former This Morning chef John Torode alongside Gregg Wallace.

And not one to mince his words, John Torode has this to say to the celebrities up for the coveted title of Masterchef: "We don't give a damn if they're A or Z list. We're here to show you can cook well if you concentrate. Celebrities never realise how bloody hard it is. They think it's television, that they're celebrities, so they'll be looked after."

Stern words aside, Andy has a trick up his sleeve. A trick in the form of his patented dessert - a truly scrumptious sounding Banana Muffin in a rum cream.

Andi also has the experience of being taught by one of the greatest chef’s he knows, his American mum: "She says that out of all us four children I was the only one who went in to the kitchen. We baked things together; I was like her little sous chef!"

Andi has very kindly issued us with a variation on the speciality that he cooked on Masterchef, a delicious Banana Loaf with peanut cream butter: "I love bananas and thought it might be fun to try it as a loaf with some rum or peanut butter."
