Claire Goose

She’s one of the most recognisable faces on British television thanks to her roles as Nurse Tina in Casualty and Detective Mel Silver in the gripping crime drama, Waking the Dead.

Now actress Claire Goose 33, will generate a new generation of fans as Sun Hill’s latest recruit, Sergeant Rachel Weston.

However the eagle-eyed amongst you will be quick to point out that this isn’t Claire’s first appearance in The Bill. The stunning actress first appeared in the show (in its originals previous format) as a young lady abused by her boyfriend way back in 1995.

Claire, who’s a fan of the show, reveals what attracted her to the role: "It's changed a lot since the show got a new executive producer. It's more about police issues and I think it's very reflective of what's happening on the London streets at the moment."

On her decision to stay on the right side of the law, Claire revealed, "I've always had a big love for police and legal dramas. People seem to think I know what I'm doing but apart from the 'read your rights' speech, I haven't got a clue!”

The Bill aside, Claire is also an ambassador for the One Water charity. The charity was established by her brother and money raised goes towards helping with the water crisis in Africa. They use the initiative of building roundabouts for children to play on. The roundabouts are attached to a bore and with every rotation of the roundabout; clean water is pumped into a big tank.

The charity is just focusing on Africa at the moment, but Claire says they hope to help other third world countries dealing with a water crisis in the future. She’s been fortunate enough to travel there to see exactly where the money goes: "Last year I went to Africa twice and filmed a documentary about how different people's lives are now the area is being funded by One Water."

One Water is an ethical bottled water brand which donates all of its profits to funding water projects in Africa. One Water is stocked in Morrisons, Co-op, TOTAL service stations, Waitrose, Tesco and World Duty Free.
