
Fern joined This Morning in 1999 and currently presents the show on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Together, Fern and Phillip have made the show essential viewing, winning the Best Daytime Viewing TV Quick Award in 2003 and 2004.
Fern began her broadcasting career with the BBC as a presenter with Spotlight South West before moving to BBC1's News Afternoon, becoming the BBC's youngest ever national news presenter. She went on to present with TVS, hosting Coast to Coast; Coast to Coast People and Magic Moments.
She has since worked on a variety of programmes including Carlton Television's After Five, BBC's Breakfast Time, GMTV, London News Network's London Tonight, and as a guest reporter for BBC1’s Holiday.
March 1998 saw the launch of her first book, Fern’s Family Favourites (Andre Deutsch), written with cook and home economist Susie Magasiner. The book is a collection of 60 of her favourite recipes and tips on preparing food for the busiest of cooks. October 1999 saw the release of her second book, Winter Treats and Summer Delights (Andre Deutsch).
Fern lives in Buckinghamshire with chef husband Phil Vickery and twins Jack and Harry, and daughters Grace and Winnie. Together, Fern and Phil have launched their own cookery book, entitled Fern and Phil's Family Food.
In the little bit of spare time she has, Fern regularly practises pilates which has just led to the release of her very own best-selling exercise video Lynne Robinson’s Everyday Pilates with Fern Britton.
