Family getaways - Pembrokeshire

Published: Wednesday, 26 March 2008, 10:45AM

With miles of coastline and activities to suit all ages – the whole family will have a fun-filled holiday in Pembrokeshire.

Steve started his trip with a visit to the beautiful coastal town of Tenby. This is a great place to take in the sights and the beautiful coastline.

After all that sea air, Steve was in need of some Welsh food. So he headed to Narberth, a great little place full of local delicatessens and shops. Steve visited Wisebuys who helped him choose a Welsh hamper full of local produce. Their hampers can be bought from the shop or delivered anywhere and Steve chose to have his delivered to his accommodation. This was the luxurious Peacock Cottage where families are welcome and prices start from £477. There is a lot of style on offer for the parents and lots of games and fun for the children too.

But if you want to get out and about then there are tons of things to do. Steve went to Folly Farm which is great for families with tons of animals to see and feed. Next was a more action packed trip to Heatherton for some go-karting, baseball and archery

For a more restful pastime Steve recommends learning more about the Love Spoon. This Welsh tradition is a true labour of love and dates back to the 17th century and Steve went to learn how Love Spoon’s were made at www.lovespoons.org.uk/workshop
