When Wish You Were Here...? reported from Ibiza in 1979, the island was pretty sedate; Chris Kelly declared it "the perfect place for jaded executives, tired housewives and stunning senoritas".
Today, it's a mecca for clubbers and Mark Durden-Smith returns to the home of hedonism to find out what else pulls in the 21st century traveller.
He starts on the cobbled streets of Ibiza Town, a mix of designer shops, hippy chic boutiques and fetish shops, where the rule is to see and be seen. Mark meets fashion designer Rebecca Cella, who gives him some racy fashion tips for a night out in the clubs. Following some of her less daring advice, he dons his finest cravat and heads out to experience the world-famous nightlife for himself.
He checks out the beaches and catches up with international DJ Judge Jules who shares his memories of previous visits to the island.
Mark also makes a new pal as he takes in the sunset at the world-famous Cafe del Mar.
Brian Whetton decided that he would retire to Ibiza on the first day of his first holiday abroad with wife Diane. That ambition was fulfilled 26 years later in 1997; they found their island idyll in peaceful Cala Llonga on the east coast, where we see more of the quieter side of Ibiza.
