PlayPolice have launched a murder investigation after discovering a man's body in a buried suitcase.
The corpse was unearthed on Saturday near a footpath in north Bournemouth after a two day search.
Detectives believe the dead man is Richard Henry Emery, an alcoholic in his 60s.
Mr Emery was reported missing from his sheltered flat at Castle Dean Lodge on Throop Road in Townsend on April 29. Fellow residents had last seen him ten days earlier.
Officers were concerned for his safety due to health concerns related to an alcohol dependency. In recent days, they were tipped off that Mr Emery may have come to some harm, a Dorset Police spokesman said.
On Friday, officers arrested a 46-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man, both from the Bournemouth area, in connection to the investigation.
Magistrates have granted police a 36-hour extension to enable further questioning of the pair.
