Dramatic footage has emerged of Boris Johnson's lorry crash near-miss.
The London mayor was on a cycling fact-finding mission in Limehouse, east London, when the lorry crashed into a parked car, missing him by a few feet.
A CCTV camera on a nearby building captured the moment the lorry's rear doors flew open as it crossed a speed hump, hit a parked car and pulled it into the road.
Mr Johnson, Transport Commissioner Peter Hendy, transport adviser Kulveer Ranger and a group of other cyclists were only a few feet away.
Speaking at the launch of a £115 million "cycle revolution" for London, Mr Johnson said the other cyclists met the incident with "remarkable sang-froid".
He said: "I did vaguely notice a rather loud crash and there was a bit of debris caused by the car catapulting through the party.
"It was obvious from the noise that something had gone wrong and when I stopped and turned I could see the debris. Thankfully, no one took a scratch."
Metropolitan Police officers interviewed the driver of the lorry, which appeared to be carrying scrap, under caution.
He has been reported for driving without due care and attention and keeping a vehicle in a dangerous condition.
