Film of the moment footballer Luke McCormick is told his drink-driving caused the death of a child has been released.

The former Plymouth Argyle goalkeeper is serving a seven-year jail sentence for killing brothers Arron and Ben Peak in the crash on the M6 in June.

CCTV film from Stoke police station shows him looking distraught when he realises the crash has led to a death and mutters "Oh my God" as he leans against a desk with his head in his hands.

The ex-England youth international was returning from a wedding at which he had been drinking heavily.

On the morning of the crash he ignored a plea from a friend to stop and pull over at services.

When breathalysed Luke McCormick was more than twice the legal alcohol limit.

The Peaks were on a trip to Silverstone Racetrack when the crash happened.

Police hope the footage, which was shown on ITV1's Police, Camera, Action, will give a clear warning to others thinking about getting behind the wheel after a night of heavy drinking.
