PlayParalympics team boss Phil Lane has said the stunning medal haul has created a hard act to follow.
The country's most successful Paralympian team of modern times was warmly received upon its arrival at Heathrow with a large crowd assembling to greet the medal winners.
China topped the table in Beijing but Britain's total tally of 102, including a remarkable 42 golds, was enough to secure second place behind the hosts.
The performance far outstripped pre-Games aspirations of finishing between third and fifth and Lane is determined not to concede any ground at the London Games in 2012.
He said: "After what we achieved in Beijing no one will let us get away with anything less than second place in our home Games.
"You always have to set your targets higher and better than what you've achieved, and that's what we'll do"
