An 11th century naked protest was re-enacted in London’s Hyde Park – to raise money for a cancer charity.

Lady Godiva was a noblewoman during the reign of King Canute and is said to have ridden naked through Coventry in a bid to stop her husband’s cruel treatment of the people of the city.

A group of women rode semi-naked on horseback through the park to raise money for Maggie’s Cancer Support Centre in Oxford.

The ride was organised by film director Vicky Jewson.

Vicky has directed a a modern version of the story soon to be out on DVD.
