They are pushy, they are ambitious and they think they can sell anything to anyone – whatever it takes, and whatever the cost.

Eight salespeople have put their careers on hold, their reputations on the line, and are risking it all over six weeks for the ultimate buzz - to close the biggest deal of their lives.

Replacing the existing workforce in real businesses across the UK, these ruthless professionals must hit aggressive sales targets, earn maximum commission and as a result push their combined kitty of cash ever higher.

Each with buckets of self confidence they consider themselves to be at the top of their game whether in used cars, telesales or advertising, and all have their own unique patter that they believe stands them apart from the others.

Brash IT sales expert Thea isn’t afraid to use her sexuality to succeed while salt-of-the-earth Essex car salesman Danny says of his technique: “I’ll walk the horse to water just as many times as it’ll take to drink.”

However living the life of the travelling salesmen won’t be easy or glamorous, and whether they are selling three piece suites, door to door double glazing or super luxury limousines the pressure is on to get the customers in and close that deal.

When the sales deadline is up, the final scrabble for the orders book has passed and the figures collated, entrepreneur John Caudwell will referee proceedings, to ensure there’s been no rules of sale broken.

The harder each salesperson works, the more they earn, the more they earn, the greater the prize. Each week, for one of the bottom two performers it will be the end of the road, as their fate lies solely in the hands of that week’s highest grossing salesman. By the final week, three salespeople will be left but only one will be able to be ‘top dog’.
