Life

06/10/2008

Meet Detective Charlie Crews (Damian Lewis, Band of Brothers). Behind him sit 12 tough years of hard prison time for a crime he didn’t commit. Ahead of him lie the challenges of a world that’s moved on without him. Thanks to the efforts of his close friend and attorney Constance Griffiths (Brooke Langton, Friday Night Lights) he has been given a second chance. Now it’s time for this complex, offbeat detective to walk through the painful cobwebs of his past and re-enter the scorn-filled halls of a job he loves. It’s no easy task, especially when his reluctant new partner is as jaded as Dani Reese (Sara Shahi, Rush Hour 3).

But Charlie’s time behind bars has given him an appreciation for life’s details, and he returns to the force with an almost Zen-like approach to temper his rage and to find the connections that help solve the crimes.

Crews, accompanied by his new partner, works to solve the inexplicable murder of a young boy, but his unconventional tactics put Reese on edge causing both her and Lt. Karen Davis (Robin Weigert, Deadwood) to question his motives for rejoining the force. As Reese is put under pressure to find a way to get Crews off the case and out of the force she begins to develop an understanding

Life features a spectacular supporting cast that includes Emmy Award Winner Adam Arkin (Chicago Hope) as Crews’ former cellmate Ted Early.

Life is a Universal Media Studios production. Rand Ravich is executive producer and writer; Far Shariat and Dan Sackheim are executive producers on the 11-part series ; David Semel is executive producer and director on the pilot.
