Born in Newcastle, John Middleton enjoyed literature at an early age, triggering his ambition to act. He has starred in a string of dramas, including Prime Suspect III, Hetty Wainthropp Investigates, Coronation Street, two Catherine Cookson adaptations, The Round Tower and The Gambling Man. He first appeared in Emmerdale in the early 90s as a policeman.
