Nathan went to where Lee and Mick were chopping firewood and asked him how he was getting on. But this was quickly followed by a snide remark about Katie. "Well, you certainly got the sympathy vote," he said. "She's a sucker for a victim, that girl."

Lee moved towards Nathan, tempted to hit him, but Mick stopped him. "Leave it," said Mick, putting his hand on Lee's shoulder. "Yeah, best listen to your granddad. I think he knows more than you realise," said Nathan.

At the Woolpack, Natasha collared Eric about a problem she was having with some local property development. "There seems to be a footpath running right through the area," she explained. It didn't take much persuading for Eric to say he'd have a word with his friends at the council.

Nathan finally contronted Mick about the poaching, claiming that the butcher had identified him as the one who'd sold him the venison. But when Mick wouldn't own up, Nathan had no other choice. "We'll see what the police have to say, shall we?"

Edna saw Natasha and Eric talking and demanded to know what they were discussing. "Was it the footpath?" she asked him. "That footpath has been public thoroughfare for hundreds of years!" Eric replied: "Then I should imagine it fancies a change of scene!" Edna was seething.

Back at Home Farm, Mick finally confessed that he was the poacher. Nathan and Katie were also there to hear it, although Nathan accused Lee of being involved. "You?" exclaimed Lee. "I'm so, so sorry," said Mick.

Elsewhere, Bob and Brenda spent a few hours showing potential buyers around the post office, café and flat. But Bob admitted that despite years of being a salesman, all he wanted was for people to say they weren't interested.

Finally, Nathan found Lee and Katie outside the pub and couldn't resist throwing another accusation about the poaching. "Nathan, leave it!" said Katie. But Lee was easy game and made the mistake of lunging at Nathan again. "Don't bother coming in tomorrow," Nathan told him. "That just got your fired."
