Emmerdale: Eli kidnaps Val

The Dingles play havoc with Val and Eric on their wedding day - by kidnapping the bride! Let's put you in the picture: Val realises the tablecloths aren't ready for the Pub of the Year event and storms over to the factory. As she runs up the stairs, Lisa - who has just finished the sewing - rushes out, and Val falls down the stairs, knocking herself out. A horrified Lisa asks Eli to look after Val while she delivers the tablecloths. But when Eli finds out about the surprise wedding, he decides to kidnap Val. Having delivered the tabecloths, Lisa returns to find Val and Eli gone. So she rushes back to Wishing Well Cottage and asks Zak and Shadrach to help her look for them. They find Val tied up in the stables with a sack over her head and Eli looking terribly pleased with himself.

Eli explains the plan to his family, who all think he's out of his tiny mind. 

Zak asks Eli what he's playing at, putting the Dingles at risk by kidnapping their local landlady. Eli explains... If Val is meant to be getting married today, Eric will do anything to get her back. He has money, the Dingles need cash for Belle's school fees. Simple!

Poor Val. She should have some sort of veil on her head - not a bit of old sack cloth. But of course, she has no idea that today's her wedding day. Not yet, anyway...

Lisa takes the cloth off Val's head and tells her what's going on. Val is horrified to learn that Eric was planning on making the Pub of the Year party their wedding reception. Cheapskate.

When Val hears of Pollard's penny-pinching surprise wedding plan, she's convinced he can't really love her and decides to teach him a lesson! She tells the Dingles she'll remain 'kidnapped', if they split the £10,000 ransom 60:40. 

There's Eric, wondering where his beautiful bride is. But with the kidnap and Val's ransom deal with the Dingles, will there even be a wedding?
