Kettering manager Mark Cooper admitted his players left the pitch feeling like they had been beaten after they had earned an FA Cup replay with Notts County following a 1-1 draw at Meadow Lane
Brett Solkhon had given the Blue Square Premier team the lead but an equaliser from Sean Canham meant the two sides will have to meet again.
Cooper said: "Once we got to grips with things we did really well and controlled the game for long periods.
"We got the goal and I'm a bit disappointed that we didn't go on to build on it.
"The boys are a bit sick in the dressing room because they thought we should have gone through. It feels like a defeat for them.
"We got a replay and I think we can make it. If we do that we'll be up against Eastwood with a good chance of reaching the fourth round and the odds then narrow for landing a big one.
"We had one or two opportunities and Craig Westcarr missed a good chance at the death. All the football was played at Notts County's end in the second half but although we looked solid at the back we were not at our best going forward."
