Fallon hails heroic Histon

Boss Steve Fallon saluted his Histon heroes after Matt Langstons first-half header earned the Stutes a famous cup upset.

The giant defender, a postman by trade, headed the only goal of the game in the 39th minute to send Leeds crashing to their first ever defeat to a non-league team.

The League One giants dominated the second half with Lubomir Michalik rattling a post and having a shot brilliantly cleared off the line but Histon held-on for their eighth win on the trot, and will now face Swansea at home in round three.

Fallon said: "We were magnificent and we thoroughly deserve to be in the third round.

"I always believed we could do it and we had to dig in after we scored but we were the better team for the first hour.

"Leeds got on the top in the final half hour but we defended magnificently and the lads withstood everything they had to throw at us.

"This result will do the club the world of good and hopefully we can push on from this and go on to bigger and better things.

"Its a good draw to be at home again and I'm sure we will have another full house and being at home we've got the chance to get into round four."
