AFC Wimbledon 1-4 Wycombe

Published: Monday, 10 November 2008, 12:00AM

A hat-trick from Wycombe striker Matt Harrold ensured the League Two high fliers avoided an FA Cup upset with a 4-1 victory against AFC Wimbledon at Kingsmeadow.

An error gifted the visitors the lead as Luke Garrard surrendered possession cheaply and Chris Zebroski laid in Harrold who slotted the ball in to the bottom right-hand corner from inside the penalty area.

The simplest of goals gave Wycombe their second nine minutes before half time as a long goal kick from Scott Shearer was flicked on by Zebroski and Harrold coolly rounded Andy Little before slotting home.

Wycombe were almost out of sight before the break but Little got the faintest of touches to deny Harrold a hat trick after Zebroski had laid in his strike partner.

The Dons started the second half brightly and got their reward after 56 minutes as Tom Davis' cross alluded the away defence and Sam Hatton was on hand to tuck the ball home from close range at the far post.

But the fight-back was short lived and five minutes later the Chairboys restored their two-goal cushion as John Mousinho drove in towards the penalty area before finding Matt Phillips who rolled the ball past Little.

It was all over after 74 minutes as Mousinho broke with pace before sliding in Harrold who slid the ball past the onrushing Little to complete his hat trick.
