Goalkeeper Kenny Arthur was Accrington Stanley's hero as he earned his side an FA Cup first-round replay with an inspired performance in the goalless draw with Tranmere.
The former Partick stopper was at his best in the first half as he denied Bas Savage, Ian Moore, Antony Kay (twice) and Gareth Edds with a string of top-drawer saves.
Jimmy Ryan and John Miles went closest for Stanley, who haven't won an FA Cup tie for almost five years, in the first period.
But chances were at a premium in the second. Ryan Shotton blazed over from 40 yards just after the re-start but that was as good as it got until Chris Shuker missed a great chance when he stole in from the left but spooned his effort over the bar after 69 minutes.
Rostyn Griffiths blazed over from 20 yards a minute later but Tranmere almost stole the game late on when Savage's effort from 12 yards was deflected just over the bar by Kieran Charnock.
The replay takes place at Prenton Park on Tuesday November 18.
