Hereford 0-0 Dag & Red

Published: Saturday, 8 November 2008, 12:00AM

Hereford and Dagenham will have to fight it out again for the right to win a place in the second round of the FA Cup after a goalless draw.

Only 1,825 supporters turned out for the tie which lacked very little excitement throughout the 90 minutes.

Both sides lacked punch up front in the first half when Hereford's Andy Williams, Steve Guinan and Bradley Hudson-Odoi all failed to find the target.

Hereford's best effort in the first half came from full-back Richard Rose who let rip with a powerful 30-yard shot forcing goalkeeper Tony Roberts to dive full-length to save.

Just before the break, Dagenham striker Ben Strevens looked to be in position to give his side the lead but his on-target shot was blocked by central-defender Dean Beckwith.

After the break, Hereford continued to dominate but Williams was denied again by Roberts who stopped his effort on the line.

Hereford goalkeeper Craig Samson also made a fine save to deny substitute Jon Nurse as Dagenham hit back.

With three minutes left, Nurse hit the Hereford crossbar but the rebound was headed away to safety.
