Morecambe 1-1 Cheltenham (match abandoned)

Published: 29/11/2008

Morecambe`s FA Cup second round clash against Cheltenham was abandoned after 64 minutes due to fog.

The game was level at 1-1 after on-loan Robins striker Barry Hayles had levelled Rene Howe's 15th-minute penalty.

Howe slotted home the spot-kick after he was brought down by Robins keeper Scott Brown who was fortunate to only receive a yellow card.

Danny Carlton had a glorious chance to make it 2-0 after 42 minutes but saw his effort well saved by Brown.

Cheltenham's only effort of note in the first half was a David Bird free-kick which was well saved by Barry Roche low to his left.
