Dag & Red 0-0 Accrington Stanley

Published: Saturday, 1 November 2008, 12:00AM

Accrington held high-flying Dagenham & Redbridge to a goalless draw at a rainswept Victoria Road.

The visitors enjoyed the better of the first half as John Miles hit the post from 25 yards while James Ryan also saw his drive cannon back off the woodwork.

Daggers improved after the break but Mark Arber failed to convert a Sam Saunders corner while Matt Ritchie shot wide from distance.

John Mullins almost broke the deadlock when home goalkeeper Tony Roberts spilled a long shot but reacted quickly to block the follow-up with his legs.

Mark Nwokeji should have won it for the hosts late on but headed Peter Gain's cross wide from close range.
