Dag & Red 4-0 Grimsby

Published: Tuesday, 28 October 2008, 12:00AM

Dagenham ended a run of three straight defeats in style with this thumping 4-0 win over Grimsby.

It was plain sailing for the home side once Mark Arber had thumped them in front from a corner after 16 minutes.

Ben Strevens then made it 2-0 in the 36th minute when he slid the ball in after Grimsby goalkeeper Paul Barnes had dropped Matt Ritchie's cross.

In the second half, a classy Paul Benson finish extended Dagenham's lead with 63 minutes gone, before Strevens got his second of the night in injury time when he headed home a pinpoint cross.

Grimsby, who have now gone 14 games without a win, barely threatened except for a Ryan Bennett shot that was tipped over by Tony Roberts.
