Two goals inside the first 15 minutes secured Darlington a 2-1 win at Grimsby.
Billy Clarke (7) and Ricky Ravenhill eased the Quakers ahead with Grimsby pulling one back through Jean-Paul Kalala (72).
The defeat took Grimsby's winless run in the league to 22 games.
Darlington went ahead with a cheeky piece of play from Clarke. The striker's cross from the left was cleared to Rob Purdie, whose mishit shot was going wide until a back-heel from Clarke saw it enter the net.
The second goal was a stunner from former Grimsby man Ravenhill. Matt Heywood cleared a corner to the midfielder who from the left edge of the box volleyed a rocket shot into the far top corner.
Grimsby built up a head of steam and their pressure paid off with a goal from on-loan midfielder Kalala. A Nick Hegarty corner was cleared to the edge of the box from where Kalala hit an unstoppable shot into the bottom left-hand corner.
