When the glory of a promotion year has faded, teams across the land often find that the harsh reality of a higher division quickly sets in once the whistle blows on the new season.
Such is the case with the University of Sussex men's first division team, who are scrambling around towards the bottom of the South Eastern Conference after a horror show of a start to their season.
No wins in the league this season is not pretty reading and Austin's first task will be plugging a porous defence which has been shipping tries in recent weeks.
