A lot of people didn't like it - but I thought the penalty shoot-out in the Heineken Cup semi-final was fantastic entertainment.
Certainly it's a horrible way to lose and my heart went out to Martyn Williams, who's been outstanding for Cardiff Blues all season, when he missed the decisive kick.
When he stepped up I was thinking to myself "He's a banker, there's no way he'll miss this," but it just goes to show the pressure of the situation. It might only be from 22 yards but when there is a place in the Heineken Cup final up for grabs it's not easy.
But you can't deny that it made for some amazing drama. There's nothing I like more than a penalty shoot-out in football, so why not do the same in rugby?
People are arguing that a 'golden score' in extra-time might be the way to go but look at what happened in the extra minutes in Cardiff-Leicester - the teams were so knackered they just cancelled each other out. Although perhaps, if they knew a drop-goal would win the game for them, they would have found on from somewhere.
I hope they stick with the shoot-outs - maybe I'll change my mind if I'm involved in one!
The other big talking point of the weekend, after Leinster's amazing effort against Munster, was the eye-gouging allegation against Alan Quinlan.
It's certainly an example of something that is magnified by slow-motion replays which always make things look worse than the actually are.
Personally I don't think there was any intent there and it would be very harsh on him to miss out on the Lions because of it, but we'll have to see what happens at his hearing next Wednesday.
The last few days have certainly shown how quickly things can change in rugby - although I suppose with an early squad announcement it was always going to be the case that players would get injured before the end of the season.
Now, you may have noticed that Harlequins the small matter of a Guinness Premiership semi-final against London Irish this weekend.
We've played them three times this season so far - they've won two and we've won one - and we're certainly out to make it 2-2 for the season at the Stoop on Saturday. I've got a little troop of family and mates down for this one so hopefully they will go home happy.
Both the teams know each other pretty well and I think we both have a really good team spirit and sense of togetherness in each camp. I'm thinking it will be a great game for fans to watch because Irish only play one way - expansive, attacking rugby. Should be a cracker.
Remember to watch the highlights on ITV4 at 6.30pm on Sunday!
Cheers,
