Show cancelled

The Lowther Estate near Penrith says it hopes to organise a big event in 2011 - despite the news that the much-loved annual show has been permanently cancelled. The Lowther Country Fair and Carriage driving trials has been one of the region's biggest shows for the last 35 years. But the organisers say it now costs 600 thousand pounds to stage it and the event has become unviable.
